Operating Model

In order for Spontaneous Management Consulting to be able to fulfil its purpose and realise its vision it subscribes to a set of tenets which help to facilitate the delivery of support to customer satisfaction and consolidate the company’s value proposition. The model consists of five (5) key tenets. Each area is defined in terms of a stated objective and specified key deliverables which are designed to state the purpose and the define outcomes. Following is the illustration of the Spontaneous Management Consulting’s Operating Model:

  • Excellence and Continuous Improvement
    At Spontaneous, we excel in everything that we do. Our processes and practices improve continuously in line with the ever-changing needs and expectations of our customers. No job is too big or too small for our team of capable consultants. Agility, spontaneity, promptness, efficiency and energy characterise our service.
  • Customer Focus and Orientation
    It is our motto that our customer is the king, our customer is the queen and our customer is always right. Ours is to find the most effective and efficient way to satisfy our customer’s needs.
    Our marketing focus, made explicit in our Marketing Plan, renews our vision and strategic focus on adding value to our customers. The demand for more and better service delivery continues to grow, exerting more pressure on institutions that are charged with service delivery. This pressure calls for service providers in our industry to differentiate themselves from “fly-by-night” who enter the market for the sole purpose of making a “quick buck” and fail dismally when it comes to making a difference and addressing the real customer challenges facing. Our marketing challenge is to position our service offerings as the
    high-quality, high value-add catalysts in our market.

  • Self-development and Knowledge
    Our consultancy has in its employ, highly qualified and experienced personnel who are specialist in their chosen fields of speciality. Whilst these highly experienced consultants are specialists in various fields, they are generalist enough to see the customers’ problems in a broader organisational context. Whilst our consultants boast post-graduate qualifications in the field of human capital management and leadership, nothing has stopped them from continuing with their own personal development. Assistance and encouragement provided by the company to employees who continue with their studies, create a conducive environment where these employees develop to become better consultants.

Mastering of our Market
In a highly competitive business climate, almost every company emphasises the importance of customer service. Many corporations have even adopted a customer relationship management model where building and maintaining relationships is considered essential.

We have broken our markets into groups according to standard classifications based on our experience gained in the last eight years that we have operated in the market. We understand our market segments as we have dealt with them over the past eight years for the manner in which their leadership has changed – somewhat causing a measure of instability and haemorrhaging of skills and competencies. We structure and package our offerings to suit the specific and unique needs of customers.

Leadership and Good Governance

At Spontaneous we believe in the highest standards of Corporate Governance and zero-tolerance for mediocrity and sub-standard behaviour. Clean administration and above-board dealings are at the heart of how we relate with our customers. Our Policies and Procedures serve as drivers to the achievement of our Vision in establishing a common framework of policies of guidelines for our practices. The company’s Chief Executive Officer and the Operations Director take collective custody of these guidelines.

It is an accepted norm that all policies approved by the company’s leadership are mandatory and therefore have to be adhered to by all company employees. The implication of this is that, all employees are adequately educated and trained in the policies and the application thereof.

The Company’s Philosophy
The Company Strategy and critical success factors are set centrally and ensure that standards are maintained. A consistent approach is adopted and cognisance is taken of the latest practices, tools and technologies.

To achieve these ideals, we attract and retain the best personnel to drive our policies. In this regard, the Chief Executive Officer takes a proactive role not only within the company but also in the broader marketplace.

The Company’s Processes
While we might at time propose sophisticated modern and IT solutions to derive maximum benefits for our customers, it is always our desire (which we fulfil) to keep all company processes simple but effective and efficient.

Care shall be taken for such simplicity not to lead to compromise in the application of institutional controls to minimise risk. The major task of the consultants will, in view of the foregoing, be to provide accurate information to our clients, timeously and react swiftly and professionally to issues raised (Mean-Time-To-Respond).

In such a situation, the solution is likely to be developed on a process basis rather than purely on a functional one. This is in order to ensure that the customer’s requirements are fully covered.

Customer Relationships
Consequent to the above, it must be stated that service levels will be negotiated and agreed with our Customers. A monitoring mechanism will be in place to track actual performance against the key performance measures identified in the agreed-upon Service Level Agreements.

  • Leadership and Good Governance
  • The Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility Spontaneous Management Consulting has over the years sponsored numerous Corporate Social Responsibility projects including:
  • Sponsoring of the Home Defenders Football Club – a rural Rugby Club in the rural outskirts of King Williams. The sponsor included the sponsoring of a Floating Trophy, Rugby kit and prize money;
  • Sponsoring of the University of Fort Hare’s Human Resources Employee of the Year Floating Trophy and prize money;
  • Development of interns in various fields that are relevant to the company and for qualifications for which the company’s experiential training would add value;
  • Sponsoring of a Floating Trophy for the Societies of the Ethiopian Episcopal Church (East London District) including prize money
  • Human Capital Development and Learnerships
    We have successfully hosted and developed, more that a dozen TVET College Graduates for their mandatory experiential training, university graduates for exposure to the various facets of human capital management, customer care and interface and systems design. We are proud to say that 100% of our graduates are, as we speak, gainfully employed in the field of human capital management, either as specialists or human capital generalists.
